Comprehensive Out-Patient Cardiac Testing
We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and state-of-the-art cardiac care. Our out-patient cardiac testing services encompass a wide range of diagnostic procedures designed to evaluate and monitor heart health
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An electrocardiogram (ECG) records the heart's electrical signals. It's used to determine heart rate and rhythm and typically takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
Exercise Stress Test
The exercise stress test evaluates how your heart functions under physical stress in a controlled setting. You will walk on a treadmill with increasing intensity while your heart rate, blood pressure, and ECG are monitored continuously. The test duration is usually 20 to 30 minutes. Wear comfortable exercise shoes, bring a list of your medications, and avoid coffee before the test.
Echocardiogram (Echo)
An echocardiogram uses ultrasound to capture images of the heart. It helps to check how well the heart pumps, detect valve issues, and identify any past heart damage. Procedure code: 5108
Blood Pressure Monitor
A blood pressure monitor records blood pressure continuously over 24 hours. You will wear an inflatable cuff on your upper arm connected to a small device that inflates and deflates at set intervals to measure your blood pressure.
Holter/Event Monitor
A Holter or event monitor tracks abnormal heart rhythms. This portable device records heart rate and rhythm over 24 hours or longer, depending on symptoms.
Loop Recorder & Pacemaker Interrogation
These tests assess the data from your implanted cardiac device.
Cardiac CT Scanning/Calcium Score
This specialised CT scan involves two parts: one measures calcium deposits in the coronary arteries, and the other checks for plaque build-up. Some insurance companies may cover this test, so verify with your provider.Procedure code: 5090
Cardiac MRI Scanning
Cardiac MRI provides detailed images of heart structure, function, and blood flow, aiding in treatment planning for complex heart conditions. Confirm with your insurance provider if this test is covered.Procedure code: 7049
Stress Echo
This test combines transthoracic echocardiography with a stress test, either through exercise or medication, to evaluate heart function under stress. The procedure lasts about 45 minutes. Check with your insurance provider for coverage. Procedure code: 5022
Transoesophageal Echo (TOE)
A transoesophageal echo involves swallowing a probe to get detailed images of the heart, particularly the valves. This test is crucial for planning heart valve surgery. Verify with your insurance company regarding coverage. Procedure code: 5109
